Take the Uncanny Soup Co. in Downtown Milwaukee, Wisconsin. I stopped down to visit with Erin one of the owners and she bought me lunch (Thanks Erin). In the huge gaslight building downtown this little soup shop ladles out delicious bowlfuls of soup served with a nice hunk of bread. All of the soups are made with real ingredients in their Cudahy location and trucked in each morning fresh and hot, ready to feed hungry customers in a blink of an eye.
Their menu changes from day to day so make sure that you watch their menu board each day. Not only do they have wonderful soups but they also have a few different sandwich options for those of you that want a bit more.
On my visit I asked Erin to surprise me and two scrumptious bowls of soup were served out. One a tangy chicken Parmesan with spiral pasta in a tomato base was delicious. The other a white cauliflower cheese soup that had 7 year old aged cheese and was smooth and amazing. Did I mention that the cauliflower soup is vegetarian?
And with a healthy hunk of bready goodness, of course I dunked.
Check this place out and say hi to Erin when you stop in. She’ll be the one with the huge mischievous smile.
